Tried and tested - a lot!!!

• One to Drink – Abbotsdale Chenin Blanc 2021 RRP £16. Brilliant everyday white wine from the Swartland with more finesse and elegance than many others from the same region. We recently unearthed a couple of cases of the 2016 of this and they were brilliant – an argument to lay it down (but not for too long!)

• One to Gift – Luckys Red 2021 RRP £22. Syrah Pinot Blend – shows the balance between the grapes differently depending on serving temperature. Serve this wine 12 degrees or below and it picks up the Pinot Cherry. Anything approaching room temp and this guy gets all bruiser shiraz! The best of both worlds!

• One for a Dinner Party – Field Recordings Salad Days RRP £26. First picked up whilst on holiday in Orlando (true story) this super PetNat from Field Recordings is 1/3 Chardonnay, 1/3 Colombard, 1/3 Chenin Blanc. Very good indeed!

• One to Keep – Folk Machine Pinot Noir 2021 RRP £27. This Sonoma coast Pinot Noir is all stemmy foresty goodness at only 12.6%. It’s a serious wine, but doesn’t have a huge set of tannins or oak or alcohol to help it age too far. 2028 for this guy. Boxing day. With Turkey and Stuffing sandwiches. Nailed it!
